The Sea And The Rock

The Sea and the Rock is a week long retreat set for Autumn 2010. Led by Portia Castor it will be a return to Holy Isle, the setting for Femurproductions past event ‘Meeting The Ocean‘.
The themes of the retreat are mutability/change and constancy/steadfastness, and how these are not opposite poles, but interwoven aspects of a greater whole. Much of the engagement that we will share will take place outdoors and will be both active and contemplative – some of this will be Tai Chi/ Chi Kong based exercise. We will work with the whole group, with small groups and on an individual basis.
Holy Isle is an extraordinary place both wild and sacred to bring ourselves into a restorative relationship with life and nature. The outdoor sessions will be supported by Mirave Approach (movement and body awareness) classes which will usually take place indoors. This approach builds a connectedness between our physical/energetic selves and nature, seasonal change and the system of 5 elements.
Dates: Saturday 16th October – Friday 22rd October 2010
Location: Holy Isle, off Arran, Firth of Clyde, Scotland
